Company History
Rex Pegg Fabrics was originally founded in 1962 by Rex V. Pegg. Rex started out selling automotive original fabrics and vinyl seconds. He would call on trim shops and sell out of the back of his station wagon. In the late 60’s he opened a small warehouse in Tacoma, Washington to officially launch the company as a warehouse distributor. Rex hired Donovan Scott in 1970 as a salesman. Don and Rex continued buying and selling closeouts throughout the 70’s, slowly acquiring more regular line materials and book programs. Rex was pretty content where the company was by the late 70’s, but Don had the ambition and vision to take the company to the next level. Don wanted to see the company become a well rounded supplier by attaining more of the major lines that the industry offered and were sought after by our customers. In 1980 Don bought the company from Rex and two years later moved it to the location where the company exists today.
Rex Pegg Fabrics added an additional 15,000 square feet of warehouse to the existing building in 1998 to get into the foam rubber fabrication business, which was a good fit for the existing business and customer base. The company started to grow more rapidly and evolve into one of the major suppliers to the industry.
Don sold the business in 2002 to his sons Skooter and Ed, and company veteran Skip Yant. Now employing over 20 people, Rex Pegg Fabrics still operates as a family business, constantly striving for excellence by making sure we consistently meet your expectations for quality products combined with fast and friendly service.
